Inkwell Montessori

Inkwell Montessori is building more than a classroom—it is preparing a foundation for lifelong transformation. With a grant from MGGF that will fund the essential Montessori materials that are the curriculum, placing purposeful, hands-on tools directly into children’s hands from day one. In a fully prepared environment, children cultivate independence, deep concentration, and a lasting love of meaningful work.

Founded by Ona, a Cambridge native whose childhood was shaped by meaningful visits with her family to a safe-haven camp for African American families on Martha’s Vineyard, Inkwell is grounded in a deep commitment to giving back. Inspired by the sense of belonging and possibility she experienced as a child, Ona created this school to ensure that children in her community have access to a rich, hands-on Montessori education—regardless of financial barriers.

With a focus on both excellence and accessibility, Inkwell expands access to authentic Montessori education for families often priced out of such opportunities. This bilingual program opens doors for children to discover their capabilities, confidence, and full potential.

A grant to Inkwell is not simply a contribution—it is an investment in a child’s earliest experiences of agency, belonging, and possibility. By ensuring a complete and thoughtfully prepared classroom from the start, a grant from MGGF helps create the conditions where transformation begins.
