Expanding Montessori primary schools to rural Indian villages

Relief Foundation, based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India has built Montessori centres in four rural communities.  It has  successfully drawn in families when they see the enthusiasm of their pre-school aged children to go to their Montessori classroom. They encourage young people to become involved and become Montessori teachers. Parents have also learned better parenting skills, inspired by their Montessori children.

Now Relief Foundation wants to expand to three more rural under-resourced communities.  We’re helping them to locally produce Montessori materials and train new Montessori teachers.

Donations funded MGGF’s grant to expand this successful program to other rural, impoverished villages.
